[SEPTEMBER 2016] This fall campaign is the first collection I created here in Houston since moving back from NYC. 'UNCHARTED' is a reflection of my thoughts on the Houston fashion scene and how I see it as uncharted territory. I looked through old photos of immigrants passing through Ellis Island, specifically Romanian gypsies. I loved the juxtaposition of their bucolic garments & jewelry in a harsher urban environment. This served as my inspiration for the campaign. The abandoned downtown Houston post office served as the perfect backdrop for this concept. The models' looks begin as a bohemian nod to the gypsy inspiration and transition into a more edgy and graphic adaptation of their abandoned surroundings. By the end their look is more defined and Houston becomes less uncharted - for fashion and for me.
