What Larami's wearing
What is your zodiac sign?
What characteristics of that zodiac best describe you?
Indecisive, peace-keeping, and charming. Am I allowed to say that about myself? Seems weird. But a lot of people say I'm charming.
Tell me about your family.
I'm married to the boy I fell in love with in college. We've been together for almost 18 years. We have 10-year-old twin boys with identical faces and opposite personalities. We also have a 5-year-old boy who we let get away with way too much because we refuse to believe he's no longer a tiny adorable baby.
Best Mom advice.
I hate typing this because it's so cliche, but I have to. You can't care for your children without first caring for yourself. I'm not referring to weekly massages and shopping sprees (although yes I'd take that too). I mean digging deep to figure out why you are the way that you are and how your thoughts and attitudes and behaviors might be affecting your children (because good or bad, they are).
Tell me about your pet(s).
We have a 2-year-old French Bull Dog named Bundger/Younger Jeezy (I don't know). He doesn't bark and he can't be outdoors for more than 10 minutes if the temperature falls below 60 degrees or climbs above 70 degrees. He mostly lies on the couch or the chair or my son's bed and sometimes he gets up to chase the light reflected from the wind chimes in our back yard. No matter how long you walk him in 65 degree weather, he will not relieve himself until he gets home. In terms of dogginess, he is seriously lacking. But if we're just talking about non-human creatures living in your home, he's pretty perfect.
What are your 2018 goals?
My general goal is to just move forward. I tend to get stuck in my own thoughts and halt all progress when I begin to feel overwhelmed. But more specifically, I'd love to go through a rebranding process and finally give my photography business the energy and focus it deserves. While my children were still young, I rarely said the words "I am a photographer". I was a stay-at-home-mom who happened to collect money from strangers in exchange for taking their photos. I'm nixing that attitude this year. I am a photographer. And a blogger. And sometimes a carpenter. I'm obviously still working on this.
LIVING IN HOUSTON
Favorite place to meditate/relax in Houston?
Buffalo Bayou Park. Hands down.
Favorite place to get inspired/excited in Houston?
The Dunlavy. I know. It's basically like answering Buffalo Bayou Park again. But it's just so gorgeous and I feel inspired every single time I eat or have tea or coffee there.
Favorite Houston charity.
Your go-to going out spots (restaurants, bars, etc.)
Genji (Japanese restaurant and karaoke bar), Dolce Vita, Tiny Boxwoods. Haven't been to a bar or club in years.
Houston goals (What do you wish for Houston?)
This city's response to Harvey really spoke volumes to how resilient and unstoppable it is. I'd say my goal for Houston is for it to keep being Houston (but also utilize a bit more green space ;)).
Favorite social media platform and your handle info.
What is your favorite thing to post about/ favorite emoji to use?
I usually end up posting about my children, but I do sprinkle in some fashion, bragging about my husband and his successes, and fitness. And yeah...way too many laughing-so-hard-I'm-crying emojis. It's a problem. 😂
What kind of stuff do you “like”?
Workouts, interior design photos and images of women that inspire me.
Who are your favorite people to follow?
Who do you follow as a guilty pleasure?
@mytherapistsays - It's just a ton of hilarious memes and I feel guilty about following because once one of her posts pops up, I can never look at less than 50 of them.
